The 'Ardercase: Practical, Heavy-Duty Land Rover Defender Security
We’ve spent years developing and testing Land Rover security products, and we’ve tried just about every anti-theft method available. In the end, it always comes down to the same trade-off: convenience vs. effectiveness.
The 'Ardercase is designed to give you both.
Why the 'Ardercase?
- Quick to Use – Takes just seconds to fit and remove.
- Compact & Portable – Stores easily on most Defender dashboards or behind the seat without moving around while driving.
- Lightweight but Strong – Weighs only 4kg, so it’s manageable for anyone.
Tested Against Real-World Threats
Unlike other solutions, the 'Ardercase is extremely difficult to remove—even with heavy-duty power tools in a workshop environment.
We’ve also tested folding pedal shields that flatten onto the vehicle floor. While they may seem effective at first glance, they come with serious drawbacks:
- Aluminium Floor Panels – Bolting to them creates a weak point.
- Daily Use Friction – Your feet rest on the device while driving, limiting the use of floor mats and causing wear.
- Vehicle Modification Required – Installation often means altering the original structure of your Land Rover.
The 'Ardercase avoids all of these issues. There’s no need to modify your vehicle, and it provides rock-solid protection against even determined theft attempts. For added security, it also comes with a secondary lock.

Excellent. I am convinced it is a major contribution to road safety.
Straightforward to fit and remove, once you’ve figured the optimum way to place it and pinch together whilst operating the locks. Feels solid: will definitely slow the buggers down, especially when combined with a steering lock.
I had a pedal lock previously that was a total pain to fit. It didn't fit over the accelerator pedal so balanced off it, the key was up against the tunnel so you had to find the keyhole blind and hope for the best and because it was really awkward to use it was hardly ever fitted. I'm sure if a thief had come along they'd have been really please to see the pedal lock in the back!
The ArderCase is compact, once you have the technique of how to line it all up, it is great, the key holes are accessible and visible. The main lock uses a large shed style key and the second padlock style lock a smaller key. The ArderCase store is a great addition which I've fitted to the bulkhead between the seats and behind the cubby box to make it easily accessible and secure. I use the pedal pin for short stops but the ardercase for overnight or longer stops as its a bright orange visible deterrent and about as good as it gets.
In the end aftermarket security is about either putting a thief off to find an easier target or to slow them down, with most defenders stolen to order these days, the ardercase is more likely be about slowing them down. If you are looking for the best pedal protection get the ardercase it's store and the pedal pin.
Works a treat - simple, effective piece of kit!
